Foster Care

A foster or resource parent can be defined as “an ordinary person doing an extraordinary task.” We welcome applications from qualified adults who are willing to offer a secure and stable environment to a child in need while being able to meet State requirements. We appreciate diversity and welcome anyone considering becoming a foster or resource parent regardless of age, race, gender, orientation, religion, or lifestyle.

Applicants must meet the following state requirements:

                        – At Least 21 Years of Age

                        – Pass a State, Federal and Child Abuse Background Check

                        – Have Stable Housing

                        – Have  Stable Income

Our localized approach allows many children to remain connected to family and community during this traumatic time in their lives. Our personalized approach allows us to connect with each child and foster family individually to provide the necessary support for success of the child and family. If the child’s goal is changed to adoption we can guide you through the adoption process.

Over the years, CFC resource homes have served as havens to more than two hundred children. If you feel that you and your family can provide love and support to a child in need, please contact one of our dedicated foster care staff today at (814) 336-3007 or cfcadmin@childtofamilyconnections.org.

“We all come to foster care with mixed emotions, histories, and motives. Please don’t forget that this story is not primarily about you. You have so, so much to offer – and you also have things to lose and to learn. ”  – Shari Zook, CFC Foster Parent
